Cape Byron Walking Track

Did you know the Cape Byron Lighthouse is Australia’s most easterly point?

Byron Bay

You will need a good two hours to properly experience the walking track. Once at the top of the lighthouse you are greeted with breathtaking 360° views, remember to keep an eye out on the water for marine life and the Humpback Whales, when they are in season.

At the top of the lighthouse, have a well deserved break at the Cape Byron Lighthouse Café, where you can enjoy tea, coffee, juice or locally made gelato whilst taking in one of the best views Byron Bay has to offer.

If you have some time to spare, be sure to check out the Cape Byron Lighthouse, located inside the lighthouse, learn about the history of the lighthouse and Byron Bay and if you are lucky enough, (weather depending) join the museum volunteers for a trip to the top of the lighthouse.

Wategos Beach

If you prefer shorter walks... good news... this walking track can be accessed at numerous points.

O'Reilly's Tree Top Walk

High within the treetops of World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, you will find a breathtaking walk - O’Reilly’s Tree Top walk,

Stroll along nine suspension bridges, 15 metres above the ground! (We hope you are not scared of heights!)

If you are a bit of a dare devil and the suspension bridges weren't high enough… Climb to the top of the observation decks – these decks reach heights of 30 metres above the ground!

Springbrook National Park – Natural Bridge & Glow Worms Cave

There are many great walks and adventures to be had at Springbrook National Park, our favourite is the Natural Bridge walk. This walk is perfect if you have young children as it is only a 1.5 kilometre walking track.

The park’s Natural Bridge section features an amazing rock formation that you can stare at for hours, formed by the force of the waterfall over the basalt cave.

We recommend starting your trek by going clockwise and walk through the rainforest to the 'natural bridge'. If you dare... enter the cave where you can stand behind the waterfall! If the cave is dark enough, you might be able to spot some glow worms.

If you are feeling like something sweet after your walk, head down to The Fudge Shop (3 Lyrebird Ridge Rd, Springbrook) for some amazing freshly made fudge! The hardest decision will be choosing the flavour! They also have coffee, ice cream, soaps, jams, candles and more, the perfect souvenir shop to shop for those at home!
